Soba Making Class

Avoid weekend crowds at the resort and experience something local! You will make soba (buckwheat noodles), a traditional Japanese from buckwheat flour. 2-4 people per group will work together to make soba for 3-4 servings which will be eaten with vegetable tempura. Local instructors will provide detailed instructions. Who's going to make the best soba in Myoko!?

Tour Details

Pick up: 11:00

Winter: Pick up is at Akakura Onsen bus terminal 

Green season: Please designate your pick up location.


Introduction: 11:15

Meet the instructor and learn about soba and Myoko’s food culture.


Make Soba: 11:30 - 13:00

You’ll work together as a team to make your soba from scratch with local buckwheat. Learn how to cook the soba to perfection. At the end of the class we’ll eat the soba and tempura together. (tempura will be cooked by the instructor but you’ll learn how to prepare it)


Farewell: 13:15 - 13:45

Clean up the kitchen and say farewell to the local team.


Arrive: 14:00
