Enjoy snowshoeing on the deep snow of Myoko Kogen and learning about the nature and "yukiguni", snow country life of Myoko with a local nature guide. After enjoying the native forest walk and possible wildlife encounters, we will have a picnic on the snow!
Tour Details
This is an example of our standard tour schedule. We can customize it to meet your requirements and group desired trekking location etc.
Starting time can be chosen any time between 9:30 and 13:00
Meeting & Briefing (30 min)
Meet our guide at Myoko Kogen Visitor Center & check equipment (fitting)
Learn about the nature and life in Myoko followed by safety instructions on snowshoeing
Snowshoeing (approx. 2 hrs for a short course, 4 hrs for a long course)
The guide will pick an area for the group depending on the weather/snow conditions and fitness level of the group.
End of the tour
Return the equipment & end the tour at Myoko Kogen Visitor Center.
We can arrange a local lunch before/after the tour

*Special Snowshoe Tour*
Shrine Visit & Cedar Forest Walk with Snowshoes - Combination of cultural experience and snowshoeing activity for 2-3 hours, followed by lunch at a local restaurant/farmers market.
Please inquire us for the above tour.
What to bring: Ski or rain jacket & pants(waterproof), warm inner layers, winter boots, gloves, neck warmer/muffler, knitted hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, drink, snacks, etc. All must be put in a backpack.
